Magazine Coming in September
In May, I heard about a book called Last Child in the Woods. It’s about a syndrome that’s been named Nature Deficit Disorder, with a compelling call to make sure we prioritize keeping kids connected with nature. This got me thinking about how glad I was to be living in a country that still so clearly celebrated its outdoor environment. I have been in New Zealand for 15 years now, that’s more than half of my adult life, all of my parenting life, and all of my gardening life. I came to NZ as an outdoor person, NZ has allowed & encouraged me to extend my experience of outdoor life.
We are spending more & more time with our business, Goodbye Sandfly, to allow it reflect the things we care about- good food, natural health, outdoor skills, kid adventures & just general adaptive self-care skills. Last year we gave away thousands of seeds and recipes. Now we’re expanding Goodbye Sandfly resources again, set amongst a community of people who inspire us.
Since I’ve been in NZ, I have met the most amazing, skilled, awake, alive, & generous people. I am more beautiful as a result of calling these people my friends. And now, I want to share them with you. To me they are the essence of “good folk” and bring with them great hearts as well as amazing skills.
Magazine Celebrating Life!
I approached each one personally, asking for them to be a contributor to our magazine. And they said yes! I can’t tell you who they are yet….that’s still a surprise. Our first issue will be delivered to your inbox in September. Each issue will be an easy 5 minute read with a wide range of topics. Most of us have young kids, so there will be a lot of family focus. What do we want each issue to give you? A smile, an idea, an inspiration. And a community of people who, like you, are keen to keep taking steps to living more naturally.
