Goodbye Sandfly - Tips and Tricks
Natural Sandfly Repellent - Goodbye Sandfly

When you know a few sandfly tips and tricks, you'll be more likely to feel like you are managing the sandflies, instead of being driven by them.

Thankfully, sandflies leave when the sun does. Unfortunately they are often the most hectic JUST as the sun sets, making sure you feel like you have earned your peace when they finally go. The busiest days for sandflies are warm, cloudy, and windless, and they are noticeably worse just before it starts to rain. They are year round creatures, but are less active when it's cold, and in some places in the South Island will disappear completely for the months of July and August (yes, that's about it).

Sandflies are attracted to heat. Feeling hassled causes the heart rate to speed up and you throw off more heat. Calm down, cool down, less sandflies, happier person. They are not very quick and walking provides instant relief. If you have a choice, stop where there is a breeze and out from under trees. Close your car doors and windows as you leave, or you'll have a sandfly party going on in your car when you return to it. Keep your repellent handy. Yes, you can just put it on, but it's helpful to know how to get the most of Goodbye Sandfly. We have noticed that the sandfly bite response is less when Goodbye Sandlfy is applied within the first few minutes of being bitten.
